France condemns Russia’s latest repeated strikes against Ukraine (September 4, 2024)
France strongly condemns Russia’s latest repeated deadly strikes against Ukraine. The September 3rd strike against Poltava resulted in one of the heaviest death tolls since the beginning of the war. Today Russia hit the city of Lviv, killing several people including children. France offers its condolences to the families of the numerous victims and assures the Ukrainian authorities of its absolute solidarity in the face of the continuing Russian aggression.
The strikes on September 3 and 4 follow the repeated massive attacks on Ukrainian territory on August 26-27 and September 2, which targeted the country’s nationwide energy infrastructure. Russia’s ongoing strategy of destroying energy infrastructure as winter approaches is unacceptable.
As President Macron assured President Zelenskyy during their most recent conversations, France will continue to support Ukraine for as long as it takes and as intensely as necessary to end the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.
